On October 2, Lao Dong reporter recorded in the Red River area through Long Bien and Chuong Duong bridges, floodwaters rose, many houses at the foot of the bridge were deeply flooded, some places had water almost touching the roof. The central beach area was once home to many households but was completely isolated.

Mr. Thai (56 years old, living in the middle of the Red River) shared: "People living here are used to the scene of water rising and falling, but this time it was too fast, in a short time the water was up to the windows. My family had to urgently move to the house of an acquaintance on the street.

Not only the house, the children's playground in a riverside hamlet was also submerged in water. People standing outside, looking at the familiar yard that has now become the lake surface.
Mr. Tran Minh Tuan (33 years old) sadly said: "Children often go out to play every day, but now they are all flooded. These past few days, the children have just been wandering around the house, people hope the water recedes quickly to return to normal life".

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the circulation of storm No. 10 (Bualoi) caused widespread heavy rain in the North, along with the opening of upstream hydroelectric reservoirs to release floodwaters, causing the water level of the Red River at Hanoi station to increase rapidly.
While many residential areas along the Red River are facing flooding, many neighborhoods along the Kim Nguu River recorded a rare moment when the river suddenly became more poetic than usual.

During the recent rain, the water level on Kim Nguu rose, at times the water surface almost reached the bridge across the river. Heavy rain has significantly improved the water quality and eliminated the familiar smell.
Mr. Pham Quoc Binh (72 years old, living in the area along the Kim Nguu river) shared: "I have lived next to the river for decades, rarely see the water quality improve so much. These days, walking along the river makes me wonder if I am somewhere else.

According to environmental researchers, this green phenomenon is only temporary. Heavy rainwater and strong flow help dilute and wash away the remaining waste. When the rain stops and the water recedes, the pollution can return.

However, this is also a testament to the fact that if there are measures to improve the flow and control the discharge source on the Kim Nguu River, it is possible to revive the river that has been polluted for many years.
