Expected to select investors for the over VND1,000 billion waste treatment plant in Can Tho in the third quarter

Can Tho - Can Tho Waste Treatment Plant No. 2 project is expected to start selecting investors in the third quarter of 2025, with a total investment of more than 1,149 billion VND.

Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a Decision on approving information on the project of the Thoi Lai District solid waste treatment area (Can Tho Waste Treatment Plant No. 2).

The project has a land area of about 4.79 hectares with a designed capacity for domestic solid waste treatment of 400 tons/day and night (calculated for the volume at the input at the weighing station of the domestic solid waste treatment plant).

Of which, the Domestic solid waste treatment area has an area of about 4.3 hectares, accounting for 89.77% of the area. The traffic road is 0.49 ha, accounting for 10.23% of the area, investing in 1/2 of the road section according to the 1/2000 scale zoning plan (Road No. 01, 407.4m long, road width 24m, 3-7-7-3 m).

The project has advanced and modern technology, effective treatment of domestic solid waste, cost saving, energy optimization, environmental friendliness, ensuring legal regulations on environmental protection and other relevant legal regulations.

The output of the waste treatment process must meet the environmental requirements, technology and technical requirements of the product consuming unit (if any), Can Tho City does not guarantee the output product to the investor.

The total estimated investment is 1,149,370,255,000 VND, depending on the technology applied, the total investment may change. Non-budgetary capital, calling for investors to implement projects through project bidding.

The project's operating period is 20 years, and can be considered for an additional extension if the investor has a proposal, in accordance with the city's development planning and current legal regulations.

The project implementation progress is maximum 24 months from the date the State hands over the land. It is expected that the third quarter of 2025 will begin selecting investors in the form of open bidding. The investor must ensure legal status and financial capacity to implement the project according to regulations.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of the City is responsible for organizing the bidding to select investors to implement the project in accordance with the provisions of the law on bidding, investment, land and other relevant legal provisions; Responsible for implementing the work of the bidding party as prescribed in Article 79 of the Law on Bidding.

At the same time, based on environmental legal regulations and guiding documents on waste and scrap management, balance funding to develop a price plan to submit to competent authorities for approval; Chair and coordinate with relevant departments and branches to carry out the following procedures to implement the project according to regulations.
