According to records, the traffic flow through Dan Chu roundabout (HCMC) is being affected by barriers serving the package to relocate technical infrastructure of Metro No. 2 project, from CC1 station (Ben Thanh) to underground station S6. The main task of the package is to straighten and relocate power cables, telecommunication cables, water pipes... within the scope of 6 underground stations.
Currently, the relocation of technical infrastructure at 4 underground stations including Hoa Hung, Le Thi Rieng, Pham Van Hai and Tao Dan has been basically completed, the contractor has poured concrete to restore the site. Only Dan Chu Station ( Station S3) and the CC1 section near Ben Thanh Station are continuing construction. It is expected that the contractor will return the site at Dan Chu station in mid-October.

Station S3 is located right at the Dan Chu roundabout area - an important intersection, often congested during rush hour - so the relocation of underground pipelines is more difficult. Workers must both maintain the construction and ensure that people's travel is not interrupted.

Mr. Phan Cong Bang, Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, said that up to now, the site clearance work for Metro Line 2 has been 100% completed, with all 585/585 cases having handed over the site. Thanks to that, contractors are simultaneously implementing the relocation of technical infrastructure at many key locations.
As of mid-July 2025, the volume of infrastructure relocation for the entire route has reached about 60%, with an implementation value of nearly 600 billion VND. Mr. Bang emphasized that some areas such as Dan Chu Station, Ba Queo Station, Pham Van Bach Station are complex points, requiring synchronous coordination with many units such as electricity, water supply and drainage, telecommunications.
To keep up with the progress, the Management Board will hold an operating meeting and update the construction progress every night. Some items are constructed at night to reduce traffic impact and shorten time. At construction sites, traffic police are deployed to support traffic flow.
According to the plan, the relocation of infrastructure will be completed around December 2025, creating conditions for the simultaneous start of construction of the main packages in 2026. "We have identified this as a key foundation phase of the project. Any problems beyond the authority are immediately reported for handling, not to affect the overall progress of the entire route", Mr. Phan Cong Bang emphasized.
