On September 20, according to Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), package 4.12, construction of runway No. 2, taxiway and other synchronous works at Long Thanh airport reached about 81.10%.
Accordingly, at package 4.12, the main structure of the runway has been 100% completed; rolling paths, service paths and synchronous works are continuing to be completed according to the plan.
Package 4.12, construction of the 2nd runway, taxiway and other synchronous works started on May 30, 2025 by the joint venture ACC - Truong Son - Vinaconex - Vinadic - ACJC647-Khanh Thien-VTG, with a contract value of 2,570 billion VND.
The second runway is 4 km long and 75m wide.
Previously, at the end of April 2025, the first runway of Long Thanh airport phase 1 had completed construction and technical operation, exceeding the schedule by 3 months compared to the signed contract. To date, package 4/6, runway, taxiway, aircraft parking lot and other works, the realized value reached about 98.88% of the contract value. The main items have been basically completed, of which the M350/45 cement concrete parking lot area reached 100%; the remaining items continue to be completed according to plan.
According to ACV, these are important items of component project 3, Long Thanh airport (phase 1), which has achieved a high implementation rate, creating a basis for moving to the completion, installation, testing and system integration phase.
Component project 3, Long Thanh airport (phase 1) has 16 main construction packages, of which 4 packages have been completed and 12 packages are being implemented. The accumulated value of 16 main construction packages reached about 79.46% of the contract value.
