Previously, on December 4, residents of Xuan Tam commune, Xuan Loc district discovered that the residential road section Km59 on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway had collapsed, creating a deep hole that was dangerous for traffic, so they reported it to local authorities.
According to the scene, the hole is about 1 meter in diameter, more than 1 meter deep and is showing signs of expanding. There is a lot of water underneath the hole, raising concerns about the possibility of continued subsidence.
Upon receiving the news, the authorities blocked off the area around the deep hole, deployed guards, and instructed people to move by other routes to avoid danger.
A representative of the People's Committee of Xuan Loc district said that the locality has assigned the Department of Economic Infrastructure to coordinate with the Thang Long Project Management Board to inspect the scene, determine the cause, and propose a solution as soon as possible.
The Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway is 99km long, passing through Dong Nai and Binh Thuan provinces. In Xuan Loc district, the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway's residential road is about 33km long.
