On October 21, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Ly Commune (Gia Lai) - said that the local government is still supporting households to move their assets out of the landslide area on the route to OPY Station 500kV ( Ia Ly Hydropower Plant).

The authorities mobilized trucks and excavators to dismantle and transport all tables, chairs, cabinets, items and pets of households to safety. All assets were moved to temporary rental housing areas far from landslide areas; in the immediate future, the locality will allocate funds to support rental costs for affected households.

"The road is still continuing to erode and sink. The authorities have blocked the entire route for many days, preventing people and vehicles from moving through the dangerous area. The work of supporting the relocation of assets for people is being urgently deployed," Mr. Dung informed.

According to the People's Committee of Ia Ly commune, the landslides and subsidence at the road to OPY Station 500kV are complicated, with the risk of landslides on the entire road surface and roadbed. The affected area extends from the intersection of Le Hong Phong - Pham Van Dong road to about Km0+400.

The landslide area has 6 households living there, of which 1 household was directly affected, the house sank, and could not be moved, and was supported with funding to rent a temporary house. The remaining 5 households are being mobilized to relocate and arrange temporary accommodation. The commune government is seeking opinions from superiors to soon arrange resettlement land for households in the danger zone.

This route is managed and operated by Ia Ly Hydropower Company. The landslides have appeared since 2022, but have recently become increasingly serious. Currently, the landslide is about 400m long, many locations have sunk deeply, completely breaking the road surface, causing traffic paralysis.
The locality has requested Ia Ly Hydropower Company to urgently report to Vietnam Electricity Group to soon find solutions to ensure the travel of staff and employees of OPY Station 500kV and local people.
