The Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) has just issued an urgent dispatch, requesting member units and capital representatives at the joint stock company to urgently deploy plans to prevent, respond and overcome the consequences of natural disasters caused by storm No. 5 (KAJIKI), while strictly implementing the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Electricity Group.
Especially in the Central region from Quang Tri onwards, areas managed by EVNCPC and forecast to be directly affected by the storm, units must temporarily suspend unnecessary activities, organize 24/7 duty, strengthen inspection, clear route corridors, reinforce vulnerable points, proactively plan to prevent flooding at power stations, control plant and hydropower reservoir operations, ensure absolute safety for works, equipment and people.
When a power outage occurs due to natural disasters, it is necessary to quickly handle it, prioritize restoring power to important loads and natural disaster prevention works, and absolutely not turn off the power again without fully checking the safety conditions of the scene.
Deputy General Director, Head of EVNCPC Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command Committee Nguyen Huu Khanh emphasized: Units must absolutely not be subjective. It is necessary to focus highly and urgently fully implement the instructions, especially in the Central region from Quang Tri onwards to the places where the storm is forecast to directly affect. We must ensure the safety of the power system, the operating force and the people".
EVNCPC also requested project management units to review the construction site and closely monitor storm developments to ensure the safety of people and equipment. Hydropower operation units must comply with the process and strictly implement the direction of the local command board on regulating reservoirs.
For units affected or damaged by natural disasters, it is necessary to update the situation to SMIS software before 06:30 and 12:30 and 18:30 daily, and promptly report to the EVNCPC Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue according to regulations.
