On July 22, according to Lao Dong, the People's Committee of Lang Son province issued a Decision approving the dossier to complete the project to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, ensuring first-step traffic on provincial routes DT.234, DT.238, DT.242, DT.243, DT.244, DT.245 affected by storm No. 3 from September 6 to 11, 2024.
According to the Decision dated July 21, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, the projects invested by the Department of Construction of Lang Son province, constructed by Construction and Trading Development Joint Stock Company No. 909 and Cua Dong Development Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company will prepare completion documents.
The goal is to urgently repair landslides, ensuring smooth and safe traffic in the border area.
The total volume of landslides that were cleared was more than 22,200 m3, mainly concentrated on routes DT.234 (more than 7,000 m3) and DT.238 (over 12,000 m3).
The repair work includes reinforcing the slope, building a zinc-plated steel basket embankment, repairing drainage ditches, filling the roadside, planting markers, and restoring the road surface in locations that are severely damaged by landslides or erosion.
Notably, on route DT.234, at Km21+950, a 50m long basket embankment system with 5 floors of steel baskets, along with reinforced concrete items of M200 cement, has been built, and guardrails have been returned.
The DT.245 route is also seriously affected by landslides at Km4+470 and Km5+150 using a system of steel baskets, tray-bed concrete, reinforcing the B40 steel grid and planting pepper stakes to ensure safety.
The total cost of the project is more than 1.92 billion VND from the provincial budget and other legal capital sources. The project will be implemented and completed in 2024.
In September 2024, Typhoon Yagi swept through Lang Son province, killing 3 people and injuring 10 others.
Along with that, more than 9,600 households had their houses damaged. Of which, 18 houses were completely collapsed and damaged; 1,970 households had their roofs blown off; 398 houses had their houses flooded and caused by landslides; 6,614 houses were flooded; 604 houses had their ancillary works damaged (walls fell, roofs blown off, trees fell...) In addition, there were 33 other damaged works such as: commune police headquarters; village cultural house; schools and commune post offices...
More than 7,454 hectares of agriculture were affected. Of which, 5,167 hectares of rice and 1,740 hectares of crops; 544 hectares of industrial crops and over 8,000 fruit trees were completely broken. More than 4,500 hectares of eucalyptus, acacia, macadamia, star fruit, pine... were destroyed.
The total damage is estimated at over 900 billion VND.
