Typically, at the Project of Runway No. 2 and synchronous works of Phu Cat Airport, there are currently about 340 - 350 dump trucks of all kinds transporting soil from 2 soil mines in Thuan Phong village (Hoi Son commune) and Tung Chanh village (Hoa Hoi commune) every day to supply materials for the construction site.
The large volume of trucks carrying soil passing by every day has affected the daily lives of many households along DT638 route (passing through Hoi Son, Hoa Hoi, Binh Hiep, Binh An communes). In order to support people in cleaning, tidying up, covering houses, and overcoming dust arising during the transportation of materials, construction contractors have supported nearly 800 households in the above 4 communes, each household 3 million VND, with a total cost of nearly 2.4 billion VND.
Mr. Luong Van T. (born 1955, residing in Phu Cat commune) - a household in the project area - said that the compensation process was quickly implemented by the investor, so people were very excited. When the project was under construction, the volume of trucks carrying soil passed through continuously, so it more or less affected daily life. However, for the common development, people also shared, and moreover, contractors supported funding to clean up and overcome dust.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Traffic and Civil Works Project Management Board, in the coming time, the unit will continue to coordinate with contractors to support about 40 other affected households that have just been proposed by localities to supplement.
In addition, to ensure traffic safety and minimize impact on people, the unit has arranged 6 watering vehicles to regularly water daily on DT638 route to limit dust generation, affecting the environment and lives of people on both sides of the road. At the same time, arrange a professional unit to promptly overcome and repair damage points on the route; send forces to warn at intersections and locations with potential traffic unsafety risks.
The Board has also requested construction contractors to strictly manage material transportation activities. Transport businesses must supervise and remind drivers to strictly comply with regulations on traffic safety and environmental sanitation.
The Project of Runway No. 2 and synchronous works of Phu Cat Airport are designed to ensure the reception of Code C aircraft such as A320, A321 and equivalents; Code E aircraft can be received when needed. The total investment of the project is 3, 245 billion VND.
According to the plan, the roadbed of the runway and taxiway area will be completed in March 2026; the crushed stone base will be completed in May 2026; the concrete surface of the runway and taxiway will be completed in June 2026 and the standard flight will be in July 2026.
