According to Tran Phu Ward Police, on July 16, the unit coordinated with the forest ranger force to receive a golden-fronted box turtle individual voluntarily handed over by Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (born 1990, residing in Bac Phu residential group, Tran Phu ward).
Previously, Ms. Huong discovered this turtle crawling on the road, so she caught it and took it home. After learning about the information, realizing that this is a dangerous and rare forest animal belonging to group IB, she proactively contacted Tran Phu Ward Police to hand it over.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong's actions contribute to spreading awareness of wildlife protection, biodiversity conservation and strict compliance with legal regulations.
Tran Phu Ward Police recommend that when discovering wild animals, endangered and rare animals, people should not keep them in captivity, buy, sell or transport them illegally, but need to notify and hand them over to functional agencies for handling according to regulations.
