Land, infrastructure and environment
According to a report by Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, many key projects in the Eastern region are being focused on removing obstacles to promote socio-economic development, expand coastal space and strengthen inter-regional infrastructure connectivity.
In which, An Hiep landfill continues to be an environmental "hot spot" when receiving about 250 tons of domestic waste every day. Landfill cell No. 16 is full, and cells 17, 18, 19 are being urgently expanded.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the pressure of waste treatment is increasing while landfill capacity is still limited. The risk of developing odors, leachate and overloading continues to affect the lives of people in neighboring areas.
In Bung Lac Dia area, many component projects have achieved good progress but still have many difficulties. Lac Dia freshwater reservoir has disbursed about 92% of capital, but 29 households have not received relocation support money.
The fact that households have not agreed to receive support money has caused many difficulties in completing land clearance dossiers and finalizing projects. This is considered one of the "bottlenecks" that need to be removed soon in the near future.

For the Bung Lac Dia revolutionary historical and cultural relic site, the actual value is currently about 75%. However, the project still does not have a unit to receive management and operation as well as has not been invested in a synchronous electricity and water system.
In the field of transportation, Ba Lai 8 bridge with a total investment of more than 2,255 billion VND is facing site clearance difficulties in Thanh Phuoc commune. About 3km of forest land has not been approved for compensation, greatly affecting the construction progress.
Similarly, the Ba Lai 6 bridge project also faces many legal issues related to land in Chau Hung and Luong Hoa communes. The determination of land location and application of new legal regulations still face many difficulties.
Removing prolonged "bottlenecks
Faced with the above situation, Mr. Dang Van Chinh - Standing Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and localities to focus on thoroughly handling the prolonged difficulties at key projects in the Eastern region.
Regarding An Hiep landfill, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested urgent handling of odors, leachate and completing the drainage system before the 2026 rainy season to limit the risk of further environmental hotspots.
The province also continues to build a roadmap to reduce the load of An Hiep landfill and move towards closing when high-tech waste treatment plants go into stable operation, meeting the needs of domestic waste treatment in the coming time.
For the Ba Lai 8 and Ba Lai 6 bridge projects, provincial leaders requested localities to strengthen mobilization of people to hand over land and thoroughly handle cases of obstructing construction on the river route.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to soon advise on removing obstacles related to forest land, compensation, resettlement support and land legal documents to ensure the progress of key transport projects.
According to Mr. Dang Van Chinh, investors and contractors need to focus resources, proactively find replacement materials, and accelerate the construction progress of items that do not have site clearance issues to ensure the overall project progress.
Regarding Bung Lac Dia area, the province determines that it is necessary to synchronously implement component projects to promote overall efficiency. In which, freshwater reservoirs, residential areas and historical sites all play an important role for the Eastern region.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to soon identify the unit managing and operating the Bung Lac Dia revolutionary historical and cultural relic site, and at the same time requested the electricity sector to urgently invest in a power supply system to serve the project after completion.
