Hanoi metro free of charge for more than 190,000 passengers in the first 3 days of the September 2nd holiday on two routes Cat Linh - Ha Dong and Nhon - Cau Giay.

In the first 3 days of the National Day holiday on September 2nd (August 29-31), the two urban railway lines Cat Linh - Ha Dong and Nhon - Cau Giay served 190,352 passengers for free.

According to a representative of Hanoi Railway One Member Limited Liability Company (Hanoi Metro), out of the total number of passengers, the Cat Linh - Ha Dong route transported 128,594 trips, and the Nhon - Cau Giay route transported 61,758 trips.

Trains operate stably and safely. Passenger volume increases during the holidays, but operations at stations are maintained smoothly.

During the National Day holiday, two metro lines operate from 5:30 am to 10 pm, with a 10-minute interval/trip, creating conditions for people and tourists to use public transport throughout the holiday.

Passengers are given free round-trip tickets at the ticket counter or can use electronic tickets, bank cards, e-wallets, Tap&Go... The city budget supports 100% of the round-trip ticket price.

Recorded at stations in the early days of the holiday, the number of metro users increased but there was no prolonged congestion at the ticket sales area and ticket gates.

Ms. Pham Thu Ngan (in Dai Mo, Hanoi) said that although there are more passengers than usual, traveling at the station is still quite convenient. At Cat Linh station, passengers can receive free QR codes, through automatic control gates and board the train in a short time.

According to Ms. Ngan, connecting the metro with the TNGo public bicycle system at some major stations such as Cat Linh, La Thanh, Lang, Thuong Dinh, Van Khe, Cau Giay helps to travel the first and last stages more conveniently.

Not only increasing personnel to serve passengers, Hanoi Metro also introduces metro sightseeing schedules during the holidays, suggesting people combine using urban railways with entertainment and cultural spots along the route.

Accordingly, passengers can start their journey on the Nhon - Cau Giay route, go down to Cau Giay station to visit Thu Le Park.

From Cau Giay station, passengers can move to the National University station, combine shopping, eating, and watching movies at The Loop Shopping Center or move to Aeon Mall Xuan Thuy.

In the afternoon, passengers can continue to Chua Ha station and combine visiting the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology on Nguyen Van Huyen street, about 1km from the station.

Free tickets during the holidays are expected to contribute to encouraging people to use public transport, reducing pressure on road traffic and creating more convenient travel options for tourists when visiting Hanoi.
