On October 28, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Decision No. 5340/QD-UBND approving the area not auctioned for mineral exploitation rights at 3 sand mines including: Co Do mine, Thanh Chieu mine (all in Co Do commune) and Lien Mac mine (Thuong Cat) in Thuong Cat ward.
According to the Decision, the reason for not organizing the auction is to ensure raw materials and materials for important national projects, emergency public investment projects, and works under the national target program, according to the provisions of Clause 5, Article 143 of Decree 193/2025/ND-CP dated July 2, 2025 and Resolution 66.4/2025/NQ-CP dated September 21, 2025 of the Government.
The City People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to manage the area; the People's Committee of Co Do commune and the People's Committee of Thuong Cat ward to organize the protection of unexploited minerals.
