Ha Tinh establishes Department of Storm Management

Ha Tinh established the Storm Management Command No. 5, located in Nghi Xuan commune, with Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha as Commander.

On August 24, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai - Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Executive Committee - signed a decision to establish a Forward Command Department to respond to storm No. 5.

The Command Headquarters was located at the headquarters of the old Nghi Xuan District Military Command, with Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha as Commander.

The Forward Command is responsible for continuous duty (24/24h), ensuring smooth command information; organizing the mobilization of forces, vehicles, supplies, and necessities to prevent storms and evacuate people in vulnerable areas; Ensuring security and order; monitoring, summarizing damage and reporting promptly; directing the organization to overcome initial consequences and distribute relief to people, especially vulnerable groups.

Storm No. 5 with strong intensity is moving inland. Ha Tinh is in the area directly affected by the storm. Due to the influence of the storm, from noon and afternoon of August 24, the sea area of Ha Tinh will have winds gradually increasing to level 7 - 9, then increasing to level 10 - 11, the area near the storm's eye will have level 12 - 14, gusts of level6; waves 5 - 7 m high, the area near the eye will have 8 - 10 m, the sea will be very rough.

Due to the impact of storm No. 5, it is forecasted that from the evening of August 24 to the end of August 26, Ha Tinh province will have heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Total rainfall in common areas is 200 - 400 mm, in some places over 600 mm.
