According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, early this morning (November 8), Storm YINXING entered the eastern sea of the North East Sea, becoming storm number 07 in 2024.
At 1:00 p.m. on November 8, the center of storm Yinxing was at about 18.4 degrees north latitude; 118.3 degrees east longitude, in the eastern sea of the North East Sea area.
The strongest wind near the storm center is level 14 (150 - 166 km/h), gusting to level 17. Moving west southwest, speed about 15 km/h.
To proactively respond and limit damage caused by the storm, the Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts and heads of departments, branches, agencies and units to regularly monitor closely and continuously update information on the storm's developments to proactively direct and deploy response work according to their authority.
Units focus on strictly controlling ships going out to sea, ensuring the safety of vehicles and ships still operating at sea and at anchorages and shelters; reviewing plans, being ready to evacuate residents in dangerous areas, promptly implementing measures to ensure the safety of people's lives and property when the storm is at risk of direct impact. Along with that, proactively deploying work to ensure the safety of dikes, dams; being ready with forces and means to promptly support people, rescue, and overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (the Standing Agency for Natural Disaster Prevention of the City's Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense Command) regularly and closely monitors weather developments; proactively advises the City's Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense Command and the City People's Committee on directives for timely response. In addition, the Department organizes inspections of natural disaster prevention works, promptly detects and handles construction incidents to ensure prevention work.
