Thousands of households waiting for resettlement at the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway project is over 53km long, of which over 34km passes through Dong Nai. Currently, the project is under construction, but the number of households being resettled is still small, many resettlement areas have not yet started construction.

Long Thanh district has just arranged to resettle more than 800 households

In Dong Nai province, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project passes through Bien Hoa city and Long Thanh district. For Long Thanh district, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project passes through 28km with a total reclaimed area of nearly 230ha. In particular, component project 1 - Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway reclaims more than 78 hectares of land passing through Long An, Long Duc, An Phuoc, Loc An communes, Long Thanh town with a length of nearly 10km. Component project 2 - Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway reclaims more than 151 hectares passing through Long An, Long Phuoc, Phuoc Thai, Tan Hiep, Phuoc Binh communes with a length of more than 18km.

According to the People's Committee of Long Thanh district, to resettle households whose land was recovered to build the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, Long Thanh district is implementing 2 resettlement areas.

The Long Duc resettlement area in Long Duc commune, Long Thanh district has about 843 plots of land. Currently, the implementation of traffic items, trees, rainwater, wastewater, water supply, lighting, technical underground pipeline system of medium and low voltage power grid and telecommunications has been basically completed. Households arranged for resettlement have built resettlement houses and organized living.

The Long Phuoc resettlement area in Long Phuoc commune, Long Thanh district has about 1,048 plots of land. The total construction volume reached 76% (traffic leveling, rainwater sewers, wastewater, electricity, water supply), ensuring the work of setting up markers for subdivision to serve people in building resettlement houses.

Up to now, the People's Committee of Long Thanh district has approved the resettlement arrangement of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project for 812 households, of which 768 households have been resettled, and 44 households are reviewing to organize a draw. In Long Thanh district, the total number of households considered for resettlement in the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project is 1,689 households.

Regarding temporary housing support, Long Thanh district has so far approved a support plan for 357 cases with an amount of more than 5.6 billion VND.

2 resettlement areas in Bien Hoa City have not started construction

Meanwhile, in Bien Hoa City, to implement the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project, it is necessary to evacuate about 1,500 households. Currently, Bien Hoa City has arranged 2 resettlement areas, with a total area of over 80 hectares and more than 2,300 plots of land, but so far there has been no start of construction.

According to information from the Land Fund Development Center of Dong Nai province, a land plot of more than 49 hectares in Phuoc Tan ward with 1,066 resettlement plots as planned in June 2025 will start infrastructure construction. The construction period is 8 months, by the first quarter of 2026, the technical infrastructure will be basically completed to hand over resettlement land to people to build houses.

As for the 31.5ha land plot in Tam Phuoc ward, according to calculations, there are 1,280 resettlement plots, according to the plan, this resettlement area will start construction in April 2025, the construction time is about 6 months, basically completing the technical infrastructure and handing over the land to people to build houses in October 2025.

Mr. Mai Phong Phu - Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Dong Nai province - said that the Bien Hoa expressway project is a key project and the time for implementing site clearance compensation and resettlement support must be implemented urgently.
