Accordingly, on the morning of June 10, in Moc Chau town, the People's Committee of Son La province coordinated with Vietnam Airlines, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Commercial Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op), Go! and WinCommerce Trading Services Joint Stock Company held a departure ceremony to bring Son La plums to Vietnam Airlines flights and to the distribution system of Saigon Co.op, Go!, WinCommerce.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee said that with over 85,000 hectares of fruit trees, Son La is currently the locality with the second largest fruit tree area in the country and the largest in the North. Of which, the plum growing area is 14,550 hectares with an estimated output of 100,000 tons in 2025.
Son La black plum is famous for its rich, crispy and sweet fruit, light sour taste, and has become one of the province's main agricultural products. In 2025, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Son La province coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to select a unit to provide 2,000kg of high-quality plums to serve in meals on flights of Vietnam Airlines through Noi Bai Aviation Meal Joint Stock Company.
The taillights are carefully selected to meet strict standards for domestic and international flights. In addition, Son La plum is widely distributed through the retail system of Saigon Co.op, Go! and WinCommerce, meeting consumer demand nationwide, especially in the Southern market.
Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Thanh Cong hopes Vietnam Airlines, Saigon Co.op, Go! and Wincommerce creates conditions and incentives for businesses and cooperatives of Son La province to sign contracts to supply agricultural products of Son La, putting products into consumption at their supermarket system. At the same time, support the communication of key agricultural products of Son La province, introduce enterprises to participate in cooperation, and consume agricultural products of Son La province at supermarkets and stores.
"Son La province is committed to creating a favorable business environment, providing the highest support for businesses inside and outside the province, especially businesses participating in investment in production, harvesting, preliminary processing, processing, preserving, consuming, and exporting agricultural products" - Mr. Cong said.
