On October 8, information from Cam Gia Secondary School (Thai Nguyen) confirmed that Ms. Ly Thi Thanh Xuan - Principal of the school - died after being swept away by floodwaters in the morning of the same day.
The incident occurred in Phan Dinh Phung ward, where her family lives, this area was deeply flooded, the water flow was strong, posing a potential danger and insecurity.

According to the school's leaders, this morning when Ms. Xuan opened the gate, she unfortunately encountered a strong whirlwind and was swept away.
At around 9am, the rescue team found Ms. Xuan's body near the old Thai Nguyen Provincial Police area, about 300m from her house.
Currently, the victim's body is being sent to A Thai Nguyen Hospital for preservation, awaiting burial.
Cam Gia Secondary School was also severely affected by the flood, the entire campus was deeply flooded, and many equipment were damaged.
According to a quick report as of 5:00 a.m. on October 8, in Thai Nguyen province, historic floods caused by the circulation of storm No. 11 ( Matmo) have killed 4 people, 2 people are missing and 2 people are injured.
Initial statistics show that about 5,450 houses were damaged, of which 22 houses had their roofs blown off, 359 houses had their slopes eroded or flooded, and 5,096 houses were completely isolated.
The whole province has more than 4,400 hectares of rice, crops, 136 hectares of seafood and 435 hectares of tea that are deeply flooded and damaged.
Heavy rain also killed more than 58,000 poultry, the number of other pigs and livestock is still being counted.
The communes that were heavily affected include Vo Nhai, Trang Xa, Dan Tien, Trai Cau, Nam Hoa, Hop Tien, Linh Son, Phan Dinh Phung, Quan Trieu, Van Lang and more than 30 other communes and wards. Many residential areas were deeply flooded and isolated due to rising river water.
