On October 7, informing reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, Phan Dinh Phung Ward Police confirmed that a landslide had just occurred at a boarding house in the area, killing a male student.
The victim was identified as V.V.S (born in 2004), from Cao Bang province, currently studying at a vocational school in Thai Nguyen.
Accordingly, the incident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. the same day at the boarding house of Group 60, Phan Dinh Phung Ward.

At that time, the area on the side of the boarding house suddenly collapsed, rocks and soil poured down, breaking the wall, overflowing straight into the room where the victim was sleeping.
Upon receiving the news, the authorities were urgently mobilized to search and rescue the buried people.
After a period of searching, the victim was discovered under a layer of rock and soil, in an unconscious state.


The authorities and local people immediately took the victim out and transferred him to the hospital for emergency treatment but he did not survive.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters at the scene on the same day, the boarding house was located near the foot of a hill, with a large amount of landslides.
The wall on the side of the victim's rented room collapsed, the room was covered in mud, furniture was scattered, and many personal items were damaged.
The circulation of storm No. 11 is causing prolonged heavy rain in Thai Nguyen and many northern provinces.
The continuous heavy rainfall for many days has increased the risk of landslides and localized flooding.
The authorities recommend that people proactively evacuate from the foot of the hill, along the stream or places with signs of landslides to ensure the safety of life and property.
