The Ho Chi Minh Road project, the Chon Thanh - Duc Hoa section passing through Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh, is 72.75 km long, divided into 3 construction packages with a total investment of about VND 2,293 billion.
The road is built according to technical standards equivalent to a level III plain road, the completion phase of the 6-lane highway scale.
Of which, construction package 1 started at the end of November 2023 by Deo Ca Group. This section is 31.5 km from the border of Dong Nai to the Saigon River bordering Tay Ninh province, with a construction value of more than 681 billion VND.
Currently, the implementation output has reached more than 80% of the contract volume. The asphalt concrete paving of this route has been almost completed.
On the route, there are 6 bridges including Kenh Phuoc Hoa bridge, Cay Truong bridge, Ba Tu bridge, Thi Tinh bridge, Suoi Tre bridge, and Thanh An bridge.
In which, Thi Tinh bridge, Ba Tu bridge, Thanh An bridge face difficulties during construction. These bridges were unfinished 12 years ago. After a long time of many changes in weather and climate, some structural items were damaged. The steel part waiting for rust is damaged and stolen, so the planting is difficult. The completion of the bridges takes a lot of time and money.
The contractor is actively constructing and overcoming difficulties. To date, 6 bridges have completed the bridge deck, the road section has basically completed the groundbreaking.

The project is still stuck with land clearance, affecting the progress of the project
It is known that this project was constructed in 2009, and was delayed due to lack of capital until 2011. By November 2023, the project was restarted with the goal of continuing to complete unfinished construction items.
The 31.5 km section is expected to be constructed 4 months ahead of schedule, but it will be difficult to complete due to some points that have not been handed over due to site clearance problems.
It is noted that at the DT 750 intersection in Bau Bang, there are still land issues. The two electric poles are still intersecting at the intersection between Ho Chi Minh Road and DT 750 Road. About 100 m of road here is under construction. At the intersection with DT 750, the roadbed cannot be treated.

The contractor's representative said that the delay in handing over the site greatly affects the construction progress and the project completion plan. If the locality does not handle it completely, it will be very difficult for the contractor to complete the task as committed.
