Provincial Road DT 743A is an important traffic route in the North of Ho Chi Minh City. This is considered one of the main routes connecting the industrial urban area of Tan Uyen city, Binh Duong province.
Currently, the route passes through Tan Khanh ward and Tan Uyen ward of Ho Chi Minh City. The route is more than 10 km long, starting from Tan Ba market (Tan Khanh ward) and ending at Phan Dinh Phung street (Tan Uyen ward).
Notably, this is a traffic route running along the Dong Nai River. Both sides of the road are under urban development and have many industrial factories. This is also the route connecting to Thanh Phuoc dry port on the Dong Nai river, every day, many container trucks carrying goods enter and exit Thanh Phuoc port.
As a highly connected provincial road, the road has only been invested in 2 lanes, built since 2001. There are no drainage culverts, sidewalks, trees and lighting on both sides of the road. Every time a container truck moves on this road, a motorbike has to squeeze close to the edge, posing many potential accident risks.
This is a BOT route that was invested in and completed in 2001. Currently, Binh Duong General Forestry and Import-Export Joint Stock Company is still maintaining toll station No. 3 on DT 743A road.
Previously, in early 2025, Tan Uyen city proposed that the People's Committee of Binh Duong previously buy back the toll station. At the same time, it is recommended to consider allocating capital to upgrade and expand this route with a scale of 4 lanes, the total roadbed width is 28m. However, after merging Binh Duong into Ho Chi Minh City, the idea of expanding this road is temporarily suspended.
