The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction reported to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in a document dated July 21 about the situation of picking up and dropping off cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in Ho Chi Minh City after the merger.
Vehicle registration is done via the Zalo application, with separate groups for each locality and agency.
Up to now, 1,260 people have registered to participate, most of which come from two main lines: the old Binh Duong province with 682 people and the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau with 578 people.
In addition, some separate groups of the City Party Committee and the Tax Authority in the two old provinces also recorded about 500 more registered members.
During the period from July 1 to 18, 5,064 cadres and civil servants took a bus to pick up and drop off.
Of which, there were only 90 trips in the first week because the new units had begun to stabilize their work positions. In the second week, this number increased to 1,637 and by the third week (from July 14 to 18) it reached 3,337 trips.
Currently, more than 300 cadres and civil servants take a bus from the old Binh Duong province (199 people) and the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau (108 people) to Ho Chi Minh City to work every day.

Online survey shows that user satisfaction is 90% or more in criteria such as suitable routes, service attitude of drivers and staff, quality of vehicles, etc.
However, there are still some suggestions such as: need to increase trips during rush hour, arrange means of transportation from bus stations to agencies, adjust pick-up and drop-off points near workplaces instead of being fixed at bus stations, and limit the use of 16-seat vehicles for long trips because of causing shock.
These reflections are being accepted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction and coordinated with transport units to gradually improve service quality.
In the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said it will closely coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to accurately count and survey travel demand, thereby developing a plan to organize a reasonable transportation route and ensure implementation according to the set schedule. People who need to use it will base on this plan to proactively arrange their travel.
Vehicle registration continues to be done via the Zalo application, while adjusting the daily registration method to promptly grasp the actual number of passengers.
At the same time, the Department will research and develop a separate software so that users can easily register, track vehicle journeys and receive notifications from the system about the usage schedule.
The bus service for officials and civil servants will officially be implemented from July 1, 2025, after Ho Chi Minh City merges with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces.
Currently, the Department of Construction has arranged 12 16-seat cars and 4 4-seat cars, all of which are new-age vehicles (2025), equipped with Wi-Fi. There are about 32 trips per day operating on two main routes:
Route from the old Binh Duong province - Ho Chi Minh City: Welcoming guests at the Provincial Administrative Center, General Hospital, Becamex Tower and Lotte Mart Binh Duong; ending at Saigon Bus Station. Travel time is about 90 minutes.
Route from the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau province - Ho Chi Minh City: Welcoming at Coopmart Vung Tau, Gateway Nguyen Huu Canh and the Provincial Administrative Center; moving to Saigon Bus Station, takes about 135 minutes.
