While millions of people across the country gathered and celebrated during the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2), more than 6,000 engineers and workers at two key expressway projects connecting Lang Son - Cao Bang still tirelessly "eat the independent Tet" amidst the sound of drilling machines, bulldozers, and construction site lights all night long. For them, the construction site is their "house", the only goal is to bring the project to the finish line on time.
On the entire Huu Nghi - Chi Lang route, nearly 60km long, passing through 11 communes and wards of Lang Son province, construction units maintained 100% of the number of workers. 2,670 engineers, workers and 1,243 equipment were mobilized, simultaneously deploying 141 construction teams.
To limit the impact on people's lives during the holidays, contractors have increased signs, night signal lights, traffic diversion, and regular road cleaning. The supervision force closely followed the scene and controlled the quality of each item.

Although the Northeast mountainous region this year has had prolonged heavy rain, the progress is still kept stable. To date, the output has reached VND 2,361.7 billion, equivalent to 34.45% of the contract value. Contractors aim to complete the route on the asphalt concrete layer by the end of 2025.
Mr. Tran Van Chuan - Deputy Director of the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressway Project Management Board, shared: "The current workload is very large, but the spirit of the brothers is to stick to the construction site through the festival. We clearly identify that we must focus all our efforts to meet the progress of the route opening by the end of 2025".
The construction atmosphere is equally bustling at the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway. More than 3,300 engineers, workers and 1,475 equipment are working hard to deploy 287 construction teams. The current output reached VND 3,977.3/11,395.72 billion, equivalent to 35% of the contract value.
The project passes through the two provinces of Lang Son - Cao Bang, with a large construction volume, many complex mountain tunnel and river overpass items. However, to achieve the goal of opening the route in 2025, the Executive Board requires maintaining 100% of the number of troops during the National Day, continuously constructing according to the motto "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain, not losing to storms and winds", "3 shifts and 4 teams".

On August 19, phase 2 of the project was started. Cao Bang Provincial Party Secretary Quan Minh Cuong affirmed that with the determination of all parties, the project will be completed one year earlier than the plan - a "record" in the history of the transport sector.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan - Deputy General Director of the project enterprise - said: "This is a project that Cao Bang people have been looking forward to for many years. Therefore, even during the holidays, the brothers still consider the construction site as their home, staying all day and night to soon bring the project to the finish line. The treatment and encouragement regimes are all fully implemented to recognize the sacrifice of workers away from home".
These days, at the construction site, quick meals near the camp, and short sleep after work all night have become the "Independence Festival" of thousands of workers.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang (residing in Thuc Phan ward) - shared: "People have been hoping for the expressway for a long time and for nearly 2 years now, seeing the contractor continuously constructing it all day, holidays and Tet help us speed up the progress, we are also excited, doing continuously is the project will soon reach the finish line"
The project was completed early, not only opening a vital traffic route for the Northeast region but also a worthy reward for the silent sacrifice of workers who are "celebrating the Independence Festival" right in the middle of the construction site.
