On February 6, Ea Ning Commune People's Committee (Dak Lak province) informed that the Military Command of the commune coordinated with the Engineering Committee, the Staff Department, the Military Command of Dak Lak province and related units to organize the safe detonation of the bomb left over from the war in accordance with regulations.
Previously, on the morning of February 3, Mr. D. H. D (35 years old, residing in Ea Ning commune) drove a truck to the Yen Ngua water reservoir project in the commune to work. Here, workers driving excavators dug soil at the project and poured it onto the truck for Mr. D to take it elsewhere.
At this time, Mr. D discovered that the excavator had shoveled soil mixed with a bomb about 1m long, 25 - 30cm in diameter onto the truck bed. Fearing, driver D drove the truck to a lake about 100m away to dump the soil and bomb into the lake, then quickly moved the vehicle away from the scene.
Driver D reported the incident to the local authorities. Upon receiving the information, the Military Command of Ea Ning commune deployed forces to the scene to monitor and protect the area, preventing people from approaching the bomb discovery site.
According to functional agencies, this is a bomb left over from the war, which has been rusty, posing a risk of unsafety if not detonated in time.
