On the evening of March 9, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Nong province and Dak Mil district held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the German Democratic Republic (March 9, 1975 - March 9, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Ngo Thanh Danh, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Secretary of the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Ho Van Muoi, Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee... and many ethnic minorities in the area.

50 years ago, the victory over Lap Germany on March 9, 1975 was the first major victory of our army in the Central Highlands Campaign. After this victory, our army stepped up the offensive and rebellion of the entire battlefield.
Ly Duc Lap District (old Quang Duc Province) is today Dak Mil District, Dak Nong Province.
According to the People's Committee of Dak Mil district, the average income per capita in the district each year reaches more than 76 million VND. The poverty rate according to the new standard is only over 1%. The economic growth rate has always remained high, with an annual average of over 8%. The economic structure shifted in a positive direction.

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Thanh Danh emphasized: This is an opportunity to review history, pay tribute and honor the heroic martyrs, war invalids, and veterans who sacrificed. These people have contributed a part of their blood to the cause of national liberation".
According to the Dak Nong Provincial Party Secretary, after 50 years, from a locality with outdated infrastructure and many difficulties in people's lives, Dak Mil today has been changing day by day.
Up to now, the district has basically completed the goal of building new rural areas. The material and spiritual life of the people, especially policy families and ethnic minorities, has been improved. Border security sovereignty has always been consolidated, the great national unity bloc has been maintained.
Regarding the direction and tasks for the coming time, the Dak Nong Provincial Party Secretary requested authorities at all levels in the district to review the socio-economic development plan for 2025. Thereby, contributing to the province's implementation of the growth target for 2025 of over 8%.
The district needs to grasp the motto "economic growth must go hand in hand with the development of cultural and social activities". In particular, it is necessary to continue to preserve and promote cultural values, revolutionary history, and develop the health and education systems.
"As a border area of the country and the province, Dak Mil district needs to regularly strengthen its strong national defense and security foundation and maintain border sovereignty. In particular, Dak Mil needs to maintain and build good foreign relations with Pechr Chenda district ( Mondulkiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia)", the Dak Nong Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.
On this occasion, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 2 groups for the people and cadres of Dak Mil district; Dak Dam Border Guard Station (Provincial Military Command) for their outstanding achievements in the emulation process to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Duc Lap.
