On February 15, according to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the coastal erosion and erosion prevention project in Ba Tri district (abbreviated as the sea dike project in Ba Tri district) in Ben Tre province, has been completed. People living along the project shared that they are very excited because from now on they are no longer worried about landslides.
Mr. Tran Van Tuan (57 years old, living in Bao Thuan commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province) said that since the embankment construction was implemented, the people here are very happy because they no longer have to spend money to reinforce the dykes. Up to now, the coastal erosion and erosion prevention project in Ba Tri district has been completed with aesthetic design, opening up development opportunities for the locality.
"We can rest assured because we are no longer afraid of landslides or sea water flooding into the fields. Agricultural production and aquaculture for the people here are also much more favorable, said Mr. Tuan.

Ms. Bich (residing in Bao Thuan commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province) also excitedly said: Every year, when the wind season comes, the waves hit directly, causing serious landslides. When this sea dike is invested and completed, it will help prevent landslides, everyone here is excited.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Huy - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Ben Tre province - said that the project to prevent erosion and erosion of the coast in Ba Tri district includes a coastal protection embankment with a total length of about 2.3 km, divided into 2 sections. Section 1 is 800 m long, starting from the constructed embankment and extending towards Ba Lai Gate. Section 2 is 1.5 km long, starting from the constructed embankment and extending towards Ham Luong Gate.
The project has a total investment of 210 billion VND, invested by the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Ben Tre Province.
According to Mr. Huy, the project has been completed and accepted. Currently, the investor is carrying out procedures to hand over to the management unit for use.

"When the project comes into operation, it will help prevent coastal erosion and erosion, avoiding land loss due to the impact of climate change and rising sea levels in Ba Tri district. At the same time, the project also creates conditions and premises for people to develop sustainable and stable production in the long term.
In addition, the project helps protect important infrastructure in the area, such as the Ba Tri sea dike, Duong Tac bridge, the embankment protecting the Nhan Islet tourist area and the road traffic infrastructure system.
In addition, the project also helps solve coastal erosion in key areas of Ba Tri district, contributing to consolidating and upgrading essential infrastructure for communes in the coastal border area. Thereby, supporting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, while contributing to the protection and development of coastal protection forests, Mr. Huy emphasized.
