The rainy season is approaching. Every rainy season, the border area is completely eroded, causing many difficulties for the construction work.
On the two billion-dong expressway in Lang Son, workers and machinery are being mobilized to the maximum to "cautize" the weather, ensuring construction progress.
The Huu Nghi - Chi Lang Expressway Project is nearly 60km long, a vital route connecting Huu Nghi International Border Gate with the Bac Giang - Lang Son Expressway. With a total investment of more than VND 11,000 billion, the project is divided into two phases and is currently entering the phased construction phase.

According to the latest report from the Project Management Board, up to now, the entire route has handed over more than 94% of the site, mobilizing about 2,300 engineers, workers and more than 1,000 construction equipment.
At the construction site, 95 construction teams are deployed simultaneously on 4 packages. The implementation value reached about 1,327/6,580 billion VND, equivalent to more than 20% of the contract volume.
Despite prolonged heavy rain causing local flooding, affecting material transportation and road construction, construction teams still maintain regular presence.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Binh, the worker operating the vibrating chiller, quickly wiped the dust and rain on his face, shared: "With the topography of high mountains, abnormal floods in the summer, it is a direct threat to the construction progress of two highways. Especially, in the past week, heavy rain made many areas flooded, soil became muddy, machinery could not access it."
According to Mr. Binh, to fix the problem, the contractor must pump out water and increase human resources to level the roadbed.
At the Dong Dang - Tra Linh Expressway project, nearly 2,000 workers and hundreds of motor vehicles are operating continuously to ensure progress.
The two main packages EC01 and EC02 have mobilized a total of 220 construction teams, focusing on the items of digging, filling, handling bridge foundations and constructing underpasses for people.
Some items such as bored piles and bridge piers have reached over 90% of the volume, showing construction efforts in complex geological conditions and unpredictable weather.
Mr. Pham Viet Cuong, representative of the contractor, said: "Land and excavators are muddy and this is a common occurrence. However, the brothers still persistently stay at the construction site, work overtime, and even work all night when the rain stops to make up for the progress.
According to many construction units, in case of prolonged rain, the option of covering the roadbed with tarpaulins after compacting the roadbed to limit water absorption has also been considered.

Talking to reporters, the project business representative said that in order to cope with unfavorable conditions, contractors have deployed three consecutive shifts, arranging flexible construction teams to take advantage of favorable weather. Some sections of the route are prioritized for early implementation to prevent risks due to prolonged rain.
The investor's representative also affirmed his determination to complete the technical route in 2025, as committed to the Government.
To achieve this goal, the decisive factor is the synchronous coordination of local authorities in site clearance, handling of technical infrastructure and removing difficulties in construction materials.
