On September 22, according to information from Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee directed to overcome the consequences of rock landslides at Km156+100 to Km156+200, National Highway 279, in Chi Lang commune.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider allocating initially 1.5 billion VND from the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Control Fund to Chi Lang Commune People's Committee.
This funding is expected to be used to urgently handle unstable rocks that are at risk of continuing to collapse and roll down residential areas and National Highway 279, threatening the safety of people, property and vehicles passing by.
Chi Lang Commune People's Committee is requested to continue to closely monitor the landslide area; maintain guard forces, cordon off dangerous areas, and prevent people and vehicles from arbitrarily approaching. Households located within the area at risk of being affected must be relocated and arranged temporary accommodation.
Localities must also develop response plans and evacuate people to proactively deploy when heavy rain occurs or signs of unsafety appear.
After being funded, Chi Lang commune must urgently handle dangerous stone blocks, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety.
Previously, as Lao Dong newspaper reported, at about 11:30 pm on August 23, at Km156+300 National Highway 279, the area of Hop Tien village, Chi Lang commune, a serious landslide occurred. Soil and rocks from the mountainside fell onto the road with a large volume, stretching about 200m, affecting households living near the area.
Through review, 14 households are in dangerous areas, including 10 households in Hop Tien village and 4 households in Hoa Binh 2 village. The incident did not cause any casualties but caused 4 families to lose their houses and 2 cars to be damaged.
