On September 17, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued an urgent document, requesting agencies, units and localities to urgently deploy response measures to the complicated developments of the low pressure area in the East Sea that is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee directs localities to closely monitor floods and landslides and proactively plan prevention.
In particular, it is necessary to resolutely evacuate people in areas at risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides.
In vulnerable and key areas such as Lam Son commune and some southwestern communes, the authorities are assigned to review and evacuate people to safe places, and at the same time block at culverts and spillways to ensure the safety of people's lives.
Along with that, the Provincial People's Committee requests localities to promptly notify captains, owners of vehicles and boats operating at sea of the developments of the low pressure area to proactively prevent and adjust production plans accordingly.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station is responsible for closely monitoring the weather situation, promptly warning of floods, landslides, and flash floods to inform authorities and people.
The response and damage work must be regularly reported to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment for synthesis and consultation with the Provincial People's Committee for direction.
