The Nghi Son Coastal Road (Thanh Hoa) - Cua Lo (Nghe An) project is a key traffic project, with a total investment of more than 4,600 billion VND, 76 km long, connecting key economic areas of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.
This route not only creates favorable conditions for trade but also makes an important contribution to the development of coastal tourism, protecting national defense and security and promoting sustainable development in the North Central region.
The project is divided into two large bidding packages (XL01 and XL02), including 8 bridges spanning important river mouths and estuary mouths, including large bridges such as Hoang Mai, Lach Quen, Cua Thoi and Nghi Quang.
After 4 years of construction, the project has basically been completed; the roadbed, foundation, asphalt paving and large bridge items have all been completed. However, the official inauguration ceremony of the project has not yet been held.

On March 2nd, in an exchange with reporters, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh - Director of the Nghe An Traffic Works Project Management Board (Nghe An Department of Construction) - said: Although the project has been basically completed, some sections of roads more than 100m long are still being asphalted.
The project has basically completed construction and is being gradually accepted, handed over, and put into use. The entire project only has a few small sections that have not been completed due to waiting for subsidence. We expect the project to be completed and commence the project in March 2026" - Mr. Khanh said.
Although some work is still unfinished, the inauguration event in March will mark an important turning point in putting the project into operation, serving the socio-economic development of the North Central region.
