The closing ceremony of the "150 years of heritage rising up" campaign of Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (SABECO) officially closed the campaign. The list of Top 15 Outstanding Individual Awards and Top 3 Community Interactive Awards of the "Fire-breaking Famous" Award has been announced. The award was initiated by SABECO in coordination with Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, under the supporting direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Among the nominated faces, Huynh Thi My Dung, Pham Vinh Hung and Vu Thi My Lien are three individuals who simultaneously won the Top 3 Community Interactive Awards and Top 15 Fire-breaking Faces. Each person has a different field, a different way of contributing, but they all share the same aspiration to bring humanistic and positive values to the community.
Teacher in disadvantaged areas and the journey to sow love for poor students
After more than 10 years of working with students in disadvantaged areas, Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Dung - Vice Principal of Vo Thi Sau Primary School (Quang Phu commune, Lam Dong province), is known by many as a kind teacher, always concerned about the meals, sleep and the way to school of poor students, especially ethnic minority students.
From the reality that many children have to go to school far away and lack lunch, in 2016, Ms. Dung initiated the program "Culinary for children". From the initial simple meals, the program has so far brought more than 200,000 free lunches, helping students in disadvantaged areas have more learning conditions, contributing to reducing the drop-off rate in the locality.
Not stopping there, in 2019, she continued to implement the program "Sharing love", regularly supporting 90 orphans, sick children, and those in especially difficult circumstances, with a total budget of more than 1.6 billion VND. In addition, she also mobilized the construction of 7 charity houses, calling for clean water wells, kitchens, and roofs for schools; giving thousands of gifts, 100 bicycles, 1,300 jackets, 1,000 sets of textbooks and many learning equipment to poor students.
According to Ms. Dung, every meal, every gift, although small, is a great source of encouragement, helping them to be more confident in their learning journey and nurture their dream of changing their lives.
"The person who lights up the belief" for cancer patients in Nghe An
In the medical field, Dr. Pham Vinh Hung - Director of Nghe An Oncology Hospital, a folk physician, is a familiar name for many cancer patients in the North Central region. With nearly 30 years of working in the industry, he is considered to have made many important contributions to the construction and development of a professional foundation for the oncology sector of Nghe An province.
Having held the position of Deputy Head of Department at Nghe An General Hospital, Dr. Hung has volunteered to work at Nghe An Oncology Hospital since its inception. Here, he is the author of many research works of high practical value, typically the treatment of lung cancer using high- frequency burning (RFA) with guided robots, contributing to improving treatment effectiveness and bringing life opportunities to thousands of patients.
Not only doing a good job in professional work, Dr. Pham Vinh Hung is also the initiator of the "Creative Labor" movement in the hospital, encouraging the medical team to research, improve techniques, and improve the quality of medical examination and treatment. For many patients, he is not only a good doctor but also a spiritual support, helping them gain more confidence in their journey to fight the disease.
Women persevere for a green - clean - beautiful community
In the field of social security and sustainable environmental development, Ms. Vu Thi My Lien - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cat Hai Special Zone (Hai Phong) is a typical face with many outstanding contributions to the local community.
By bringing people closer and closer to the people, she has launched and maintained many practical movements such as "New era Vietnamese women", "5 there, 3 clean", community health training models and the "Green - Green - Clean - Beautiful" program. Notably, she has mobilized 21.5 billion VND to support more than 7,300 disadvantaged people, built 85 social housing units, and cared for 150 orphans through the "Sparming Mothers" program.
In the field of environment and community health, Ms. My Lien also mobilized 19,000 m2 of land to serve infrastructure construction, mobilized more than 300 million VND for the project "F0 Medical Medicine closet", implemented models of " Biocombined Water", "Converting garbage into money", contributing to raising awareness of environmental protection and quality of life of people.
