On the night of fate on July 6, 8 people were permanently away from the horrific fire at Doc Lap residence (Phu Tho Hoa ward). The survivors were shocked to recount the moment the fire broke out fiercely, taking the lives of relatives and property in the blink of an eye.
At Binh Hung Hoa crematorium this morning, Ms. Do Tran Nguyet Anh was devastated waiting for the funeral of 4 relatives. She said that her sister's house is 60 square meters wide, often packed with motorbikes and cars in the living room, almost blocking the entrance. On the evening of the fire, Ms. Anh received a distress call from a relative trapped in a sea of fire.
"I immediately called 114 and started the car, but when I arrived, the fire had engulfed the entire house. People used mini fire extinguishers and couldn't do anything," she choked up.

Ms. Anh added that the living room contained many flammable materials such as wood, paper, and wedding decoration lamps organized by her husband. "I once advised my staff to move their belongings and prevent fire and explosion. But unexpectedly...", Ms. Anh was in pain. About 2 hours after the fire, she collapsed when she witnessed the rescue team taking each body out of the rubble.
Mr. Tran Quang Khanh (55 years old), a neighbor living on the floor of the burning house, recalled the horrifying moment: "I was in the living room when I heard many loud explosions. The walls started to heat up, the glass broke, I could only hug the child and run outside". Mr. Khanh's family of 5 was lucky to escape, but after 30 minutes, the fire burned down the entire house, leaving cracked walls and dark black holes. Mr. Khanh choked up when he heard that his two young grandchildren on the lower floor had died.

Ms. Huong, a resident who has been attached to Doc Lap apartment building for more than 10 years, said that this place was built more than 20 years ago, with about 11-14 apartments per floor. In particular, residents often reinforce the ground floor area with an iron fence to park or store belongings. "When the fire broke out, many people could not break the door to save lives. An iron saw was needed, but the fire was too big to reach," said Ms. Huong.

The authorities examined the scene and moved the burned vehicles to investigate the cause of the fire. In addition to the 4 victims in Ms. Anh's family, a nearby household also had 4 deaths, including two elderly people and two daughters. A house on the first floor burned down, but luckily all 5 people in the family were able to escape in time.
According to PC07, the fire was extinguished at 10:10 on July 6 and controlled to prevent the fire from spreading; 3 people were rescued by rescue forces to safety. As a result, 8 people died and part of the apartment area and some of the vehicles and household items were burned.
Currently, relevant units are urgently investigating and clarifying the cause of the fire. At the same time, coordinate with departments and branches to support overcoming the consequences and encourage the victim's family to stabilize their lives.
