On the afternoon of January 14, information from Nha Trang City Police (Khanh Hoa) said that the Traffic Police Team of Nha Trang City Police has just transferred the case file of the Mercedes car that crashed into the Nha Trang sea to the Nha Trang City Police Investigation Agency for further investigation and clarification.
Regarding the incident, Nha Trang City Police have now identified the driver who drove the Mercedes with Ho Chi Minh City license plate into the sea and resides in Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa. The Mercedes was rented by this young man to travel from Ninh Thuan province to Nha Trang.
According to the recorded images, at around 0:00 on January 13, the driver was driving at high speed on Dien Bien Phu Street (Vinh Hoa Ward, Nha Trang City) and went straight through Pham Van Dong Street and plunged into the sea.
Fortunately, this area did not have a concrete railing to prevent it, so when the 5 people in the car fell into the sea, the car system opened the door to help the victims escape.
Immediately after that, the young man driving the car left the scene of the accident. Four girls, including three from Ninh Thuan and L.N.M. (born in 2001, residing in Cam Ranh City) suffered a right shoulder injury and were taken to the emergency room. Authorities tested M. for alcohol and the result was negative.
The owner of the Mercedes above lives in Ward 15, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City. The car is currently badly damaged.
