On the morning of November 9, the Ministry of Education and Training chaired and coordinated with units and People's Committees of some border provinces to organize a simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony for inter-level boarding schools in border communes on land.
At the Son La bridge point, the province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Long Sap Commune Boarding School for Primary - Secondary School.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung - Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Hoang Van Nghiem - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches and people, teachers and students in the area.
Long Sap Commune Boarding School is one of 13 schools deployed in Son La according to the investment policy to build a school system in border communes.
The project was built in Phat village, Long Sap commune with a total area of nearly 5 hectares, a scale of 30 classes, receiving more than 1,000 students.
The main items include: classrooms, subject classrooms, libraries, student dormitories, teachers' housing, kitchen areas, multi-purpose buildings, swimming pools and outdoor sports fields, ensuring learning and training conditions for students in border areas.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung - Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions emphasized that the project is an important step to improve people's knowledge, narrow regional educational gaps, and strengthen national defense and security in border areas. He suggested that all levels and sectors of the province coordinate closely, ensuring progress, quality and safety in construction.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and Son La province presented gifts to Long Sap Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, gifts to prestigious people and poor households in the commune.
