A clip is circulating on social media recording a group of young men holding swords and rushing into the soccer field to threaten a player. According to information from this clip about 40 seconds, a group of young tigers stormed into the artificial soccer field and grabbed the collar of a man wearing a soccer player's shirt and led him to the middle of the soccer field.
More dangerously, in this group of young men, there was a person holding an object such as a knife or long, bright sword, with a raised move towards the player's clothing and threatened.
Through the image, the player was punched and kicked in the person, then the player pointed the sword at the player and threatened, causing him to kneel and apologize. Only when someone wearing the referee's clothes came to stop him did the group of young men leave. The incident attracted the attention and sharing of the online community. Many opinions expressed their dissatisfaction with the violent behavior of the group in the clip.
According to the authorities, the clip was determined to have occurred at around 4:30 p.m. on February 22, at an artificial soccer field in Dong Nhan village (Khanh Thuong commune, Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province). Yen Mo District Police have summoned the subjects to clarify.
In early February 2025, in Hai Phong, the leader of the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District (Hai Phong City) said that the police of this district had arrested two suspects related to the case of a young man whose finger was severed. According to the incident, at around 9:30 p.m. on January 29, P. (18 years old, residing in Cau Tre ward, Ngo Quyen district) and a group of friends were playing soccer at Arsenal soccer field in Dong Khe ward when a group of teenagers on 5-6 motorbikes carrying weapons rushed in to chase them. While P. reached out to support him, he suffered a severed amputation of two fingers in his left hand and a 15cm long soft tissue injury in his left thigh. After that, this young man ran into the toilet to hide on the soccer field, locking the door waiting for this group to leave. The victim was then taken to Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital by a group of friends for emergency treatment.
Football fields, especially amateur football, are places to practice health, however, this is also a place where fighting often occurs, even using weapons to attack each other.
The Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Support Tools 2024 (effective from January 1, 2025) has more clearly stipulated military weapons, as well as added high-detail knives to the group of primitive weapons, used for the purpose of committing crimes, disturbing public order or opposing agencies, organizations performing tasks, and law enforcement officers.
In addition to strictly handling those who cause trouble, beat, and slash each other according to current regulations of law enforcement agencies, the responsibility of soccer field owners must have security solutions so that weapons do not get into the soccer field, making it unsafe and reducing the good meaning of sports playgrounds.
