According to Thai Nguyen voters, currently, the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway (CT.07) is the only expressway that has been invested in and is being exploited passing through Thai Nguyen province.
To continue to improve the expressway system and at the same time strengthen the work of ensuring traffic safety on the expressway being invested and exploited in stages, voters request the Ministry of Transport to study and invest in upgrading and expanding the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway (CT.07) to ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Network Planning approved by the Prime Minister.
Details are as follows: Investment in upgrading the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen section to meet 6-lane highway standards. Investment in upgrading the Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section to meet 4-lane highway standards.
Responding to this issue, the Ministry of Transport said that according to the Road Network Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway (CT.07) has a length of about 227km.
Of which, the Ministry of Transport has invested in putting into operation: the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen section, 66km long, with 4 lanes (planned for 6 lanes); the Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section, 40km long, with 2 lanes (planned for 4 lanes).
The Ministry of Transport agrees with the proposal of voters in Thai Nguyen province on the necessity of investing in upgrading the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi (Bac Kan) route according to the planning scale to meet transportation needs, support socio-economic development, and ensure national defense and security in the region.
However, due to resource difficulties, it is not possible to allocate capital to invest in expressway sections according to the planning scale in the 2021 - 2025 period.
The Ministry of Transport has acknowledged the voters' recommendations and will continue to closely coordinate with ministries, branches and localities in the coming time to seek and mobilize legal capital sources to soon implement investment in the above-mentioned expressway sections.
