Timely rescue of a man swept away by water in heavy rain

HUE - While traveling through a flooded road during heavy rain, a man in Hue was swept away by water and was fortunately rescued by authorities.

At 8:00 a.m. on November 25, while checking the flood situation in the commune, the Military Command of Quang Phuoc Commune (Quang Dien, Thua Thien Hue) discovered a man driving a motorbike on the inter-commune road from Quang Phuoc to Phu Luong, Quang An, being swept away by water during heavy rain.

The Military Command of Quang Phuoc commune coordinated with local people to promptly rescue this man and salvage the motorbike.

Initial identification shows that the man's name is Tran Ngoc T. (residing in Quang Phuoc commune). Currently, Mr. T.'s mental and health condition is stable.

Through the above incident, the authorities of Quang Dien district reminded people to be careful and proactive when traveling on the road when floods and rains still have complicated and unpredictable developments.

According to a quick report from the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control of Thua Thien Hue province, the local floods are still unpredictable. From November 18 to the early morning of November 25, the locality experienced heavy rain, very heavy rain.

It is forecasted that today (November 25) the water level on rivers in Thua Thien Hue will continue to rise, the flood peak on Huong River and Bo River may reach and exceed Alert Level 3, beware of widespread flooding in downstream areas. To ensure safety during floods, the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue province also announced that students in the whole province will be off school on November 25.
