On September 2, according to Lao Dong, the People's Committee of Lang Son province has just issued a Decision approving the Feasibility Study Report of the project to expand the specialized road for goods transportation in the area of landmark 1088/2-1089, Huu Nghi international border gate.
The project is expected to create a breakthrough in border gate infrastructure, meeting the requirements of implementing a smart border gate model.
According to the decision, the project has a total investment of more than 535.9 billion VND from public investment capital, implemented in the period of 2025 - 2027. Of which, construction costs account for more than 447 billion VND, site clearance compensation is about 11.4 billion VND, the rest is management, consulting and reserve costs.
The investor is the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board. The consulting unit includes a consortium of Bridge and Road Design Consulting Joint Stock Company (RECO) and Lang Son Traffic Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company (LSTC).
The specialized route will be expanded from 4 lanes to 8 lanes, with a road surface width of 43.5m to 51m, connecting directly to Tan Thanh Bus Station.
The project includes a nearly 725m long overpass, a 294.4m long main bridge with 7 spans made of prestressed reinforced concrete, 43.5m wide - suitable for heavy-duty cargo vehicles.
Synchronous infrastructure will be built such as lighting, drainage, traffic safety, slope protection, median strip and signs according to national standards.
The goal of the project is to increase the capacity to transport goods through Huu Nghi Border Gate, while preparing infrastructure for the implementation of smart vehicles according to the Smart Border Gate project approved by the Prime Minister.
The project also contributes to modernizing border gate infrastructure, creating maximum convenience for import and export activities, gradually building Huu Nghi into a "model border gate" - the most advanced road border gate in ASEAN applying high technology.
