On August 8, Long Binh Ward Police filed a case of administrative violations, confiscating meat samples for testing. At the same time, the owners of the facilities are required to immediately terminate operations and transfer all live pigs to the centralized slaughterhouse according to regulations.
Previously, on August 5, Long Binh Ward Police coordinated with the Ward Veterinary Department to conduct a surprise inspection of 3 pig slaughterhouses in Quarter 33, Long Binh Ward.
At the time of inspection, the 3 owners of the facility, Mr. N.V.T (46 years old), Mr. P.V.T (35 years old) and Mr. N.T.S (45 years old), could not present any practice licenses, documents proving the origin, quarantine or food hygiene and safety certificate.
These facilities slaughter pigs on cement and discharge wastewater and pig organs directly into Linh stream, causing serious environmental pollution.
At 3 facilities, the inspection team discovered 6 pigs that had been slaughtered and 25 live pigs being kept in captivity.
