On the morning of June 26, Mr. Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the development of the Project to arrange and merge provincial-level administrative units chaired a conference to prepare for the Ceremony to announce the Resolution and Decision of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units (ADUs).
Representatives of the leaders of the Department of Home Affairs of Bac Giang province approved the plan to organize the Ceremony to announce the Resolution and decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending district-level administrative units and establishing a Party organization, appointing Party committees, People's Councils, People's Committees, Provincial Fatherland Front Committees and 99 communes and wards; Expected time and location of organization, attendance of delegates, funding, organization form, and scenario for the program announcement.
According to the plan, the announcement ceremony will be held on the morning of June 30, 2025 at the main connecting point of the Bac Giang Provincial Convention Center connecting online to 99 commune, ward and live television connecting points on the broadcasts of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh Provincial Radio and Television stations.
Concluding the Conference, Bac Giang Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Gau affirmed that the Announcement Ceremony is a particularly important political event of historical significance, a turning point, the beginning of a new development stage.
To make the ceremony solemn and successful, it is recommended that the Organizing Committee uphold the spirit of being exemplary and responsible for proactively assigning specific tasks to each member; agencies, units and localities actively coordinate and participate in the stages and steps of organizing the Announcement Ceremony to ensure safety, quality and efficiency.
In particular, focus on supplementing and perfecting the script for the Announcement Ceremony program; reviewing the Announcement Ceremony program; promoting propaganda work; ensuring traffic safety, maintaining security and order, preventing and fighting fires and explosions, and clearing mines; doing a good job of logistics; fully prepare conditions and equipment to serve the communication line of the announcement ceremony connecting and connecting with quality.
The new Bac Ninh province, based on the merger between Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, will officially operate from July 1.
The new province has a natural area of 4,718.6 km2, a population of 3,619,433 people, and the 5th largest economic scale (GRDP) in the country.
The newly established Bac Ninh province borders Hung Yen, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen provinces, Hai Phong city and Hanoi city.
