The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued an official dispatch stating that it has received a document dated June 16, 2025 from the Traffic and Agricultural Project Management Board on the architectural competition for the Ha Bac 1 Bridge Construction Investment Project across the Cau River and the DT.295C approach road to the Lac Long Quan intersection, Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province (hereinafter referred to as the Project).
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province agreed in principle to assign the Traffic and Agricultural Project Management Board to organize the architectural competition for Ha Bac 1 bridge to prepare a report proposing the investment policy for the project.
At the same time, the departments: Construction, Finance and relevant agencies and units are assigned according to their functions and tasks, to guide the Traffic and Agricultural Project Management Board to implement in accordance with current laws.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province issued an official dispatch on coordinating investment in the construction of Ha Bac 1 bridge and the access road connecting Bac Giang province and Bac Ninh province.
Accordingly, regarding the location of the project: Construction of Ha Bac 1 bridge at a location determined according to the Bac Ninh Provincial Planning and the Bac Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister.
Regarding scope and scale of investment: Construction of Ha Bac 1 bridge with a bridge width of 22.5m, construction of an eternal bridge with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete; bridge length of about 970m; approach roads on both sides of the bridgehead for investment according to the approved plan, ensuring connection with the regional traffic system.
Total investment: About 1,700 billion VND.
Project implementation progress: Carry out investment preparation in 2025, expected to start construction in 2026; complete the project in 2027.
Bac Ninh and Bac Giang are considered the industrial capital of the North with many large-scale industrial parks, and are the production sites of many large economic groups around the world such as Samsung, Amkor, Goertek, Foxconn, etc.
Strengthening traffic connectivity will contribute to the socio-economic development of localities and the whole region.
In June 2023, the Nhu Nguyet bridge expansion project, spanning the Cau River, connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang, was inaugurated, located on the main artery expressway of Hanoi - Lang Son.
The Ha Bac 2 bridge project with a total investment of 358 billion VND connecting Viet Yen town and Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang) with Yen Phong district (Bac Ninh) officially opened to traffic last April.
Van Ha bridge connects Van Ha commune, Viet Yen town, Bac Giang province with Hoa Long ward, Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province with a total investment of 220 billion VND expected to be implemented soon.
The new Bac Ninh province, based on the merger between Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, will officially operate from July 1.
The new province has a natural area of 4,718.6 km2, a population of 3,619,433 people, and the 5th largest economic scale (GRDP) in the country.
