Far away, limited material mines
On October 12, a representative of the Gia Lai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board said that, implementing the conclusion of the Politburo in Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 on building schools for students in border areas, the unit is making efforts to speed up procedures and progress.
Gia Lai has 7 border communes, the lives of people and students are still difficult and lacking. Communes such as Ia O, Ia Mo, Ia Nan, Ia Chia, Ia Dom... have a long way to go to school for students, without boarding or semi-boarding; many students have to drop out of school halfway to follow their parents to the fields to make a living.

After being assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, the Gia Lai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and the People's Committees of 7 border communes received the boundaries of the land plots planned to build schools. The communes have also agreed to choose a school design model that is suitable for the specific culture of the ethnic groups in Gia Lai province.
The Board is drafting an investment proposal based on the total number of boarding and boarding students, along with the number of teachers with boarding needs to determine the scale of the project items.
However, the most worrying thing at present is that the border area still lacks planning for mineral mines. Some sand, stone and gravel mines have low reserves and poor quality.
Other licensed mines are located 70-100 km away from construction sites, increasing transportation costs and investment rates.
Need to increase supply to reduce input costs
In October 2025, the Gia Lai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board will consult with the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the list of mineral mines in border areas. From there, develop a suitable selection plan to lower input prices, avoiding the shortage of construction materials that slow down the construction progress.

On September 21, 2025, the Government issued a Resolution on specific mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties in implementing the 2024 Law on Geology and Minerals. This Resolution aims to unblock bottlenecks in the supply of construction materials, speed up the progress of public investment projects and national key projects.
Mr. Dao Minh Tri - representative of Tan Vinh Phat Trading Company Limited (Bi village stone quarry, Ia Nan commune) said: "The mining enterprise hopes that the specialized agency will soon guide and implement procedures to extend, expand exploitation, increase capacity and adjust the license according to a special mechanism.
The goal is to reduce administrative procedure costs and prolonged waiting time for businesses, thereby ensuring a source of materials for construction and public investment in the area".
Regarding the construction of schools in border areas, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches and People's Committees of provinces to identify this as a campaign that needs to be implemented drastically and urgently, determined to complete the construction of 100 schools in 2025 and complete before August 30, 2026.
