On November 18, the authorities of Krong Bong commune, Dak Lak province continued to blockade vulnerable locations and evacuate people in flooded areas.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phap - Chairman of the People's Committee of Krong Bong commune said that flood water in some areas is decreasing, but the amount of water from upstream continues to flow downstream of the Krong Bong river, there is a risk of local flooding.
On the same day, in Yang Mao commune, the authorities reached 8 people trapped in the fields due to floods. According to Mr. Vo Tan Truc - Chairman of Yang Mao Commune People's Committee, this group of people still ensures stable food and health during the stuck period.
In Cu Pui commune, floodwaters have also receded, helping authorities reach back to areas that were once isolated. Previously, from November 16 to 17, prolonged heavy rain caused many communes such as Cu Pui, Krong Bong, Yang Mao, Duc Binh, Song Hinh... to be flooded and isolated.
According to preliminary statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province, floods have caused 7 houses in Yang Mao commune to collapse and damage; 192 houses were flooded. Many roads and bridges were also severely damaged. Localities are continuing to review and summarize the damage for reporting.
