The Thai Nguyen Provincial Stadium project started construction at the end of 2022. The project is located on a campus of more than 14 hectares in Phuc Triu commune (Thai Nguyen city). The stadium meets international standards with a ball court with a capacity of 22,000 seats, 8 running pitches, and 10 straight running lanes. The stadium also has many areas for competing in other sports such as running, long-distance running, high jump.
According to PV after more than 2 years of construction, the shape of Thai Nguyen Provincial Stadium has gradually emerged. The main items of the soccer field such as the pitch, stands, and pitch roads have been basically completed.
Currently, workers are constructing the drainage section, completing the roof, lighting, seats, and painting the railings. Electricity, water and fire prevention and fighting systems are also being urgently completed. At the project, the items of growing grass and installing an irrigation system have been basically completed.
The grass surface of Thai Nguyen Stadium is planted with Zeon Zoysia grass. This type of grass is used for international-class stadiums such as Maracana (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and is certified by ITGAP. In addition to football fields, Zeon Zoysia grass is also often used for golf courses.
Talking to PV of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Vu Quang Dung - Director of the Management Board of Thai Nguyen Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Projects (investor) - said that some packages have been completed. The stadium is expected to be put into use in the second quarter of 2025.
When completed, this will be the largest stadium in the northern midland and mountainous provinces. The project will be the venue for major sporting events in Thai Nguyen as well as the whole country.
