Nghe An mountainous region landslides on many roads due to heavy rain

Nghe An - Prolonged heavy rain caused serious landslides on many roads in mountainous areas of the province.

On October 2, information from the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district (Nghe An) said that up to now, the authorities have focused on handling the landslide situation on National Highway 7 through the district.

Previously, heavy rain occurred on the evening of September 30, causing landslides in many places on National Highway 7 passing through Tuong Duong district.

In Luu Kien commune, rocks and soil covered the entire surface of National Highway 7. A passing tractor-trailer was pushed off the guardrail, and the driver suffered minor injuries.

Tuong Duong District Police coordinated with the authorities present at the scene to handle the situation. The tractor driver was taken to the medical station to treat his injuries.

After many hours, the landslide was cleared by authorities and the traffic jam was resolved.

Heavy rains in recent days have caused rocks and soil on the mountain section passing through Doc Cho area (Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong district) to slide down and bury the surface of National Highway 7.

Upon discovering the incident, the road management agency and local authorities immediately mobilized excavators to level the ground and rocks for vehicles to pass.

On the night of September 30, National Highway 7 in the Lan village area (Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district) was flooded with rocks and soil, causing traffic congestion.

From Khe Kien area (Luu Kien commune, Tuong Duong district) to Chieu Luu commune (Ky Son), there were 3 landslides on National Highway 7 causing traffic jams. After the incident, authorities mobilized forces to level the rocks and soil.

The heavy rain on the night of September 30 also caused traffic congestion through Xieng Thu village (Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district) due to landslides; the road leading to Bao Thang commune (Ky Son district) was buried by rocks; the road from Xieng Thu to Bao Thang was broken and completely damaged by floods.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district said that in the district, traffic congestion due to landslides during the rainy season often occurs, and overcoming the consequences is often very difficult due to the steep and complicated terrain.
