After an urgent, democratic and highly responsible working session, on May 11, the 2nd Session of the People's Council (HĐND) of Dong Thap province, term XI, 2026 - 2031, completed the entire content and program set out. Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - emphasized the requirement that each delegate must be the nucleus of innovation, and each agency and unit must be a bright spot in action to successfully implement development goals.
Policy decisions for socio-economic development
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council considered, discussed carefully and unanimously approved important resolutions on perfecting mechanisms, policies, adjusting planning, public investment plans and contents to promote socio-economic development of the locality.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong - Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - requested the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches and localities to urgently implement the resolutions that have just been approved. The Provincial Party Secretary especially emphasized the motto: "Clear roadmap, clear work, clear responsibility, clear progress and clear results".
Regarding the content of adjusting the Dong Thap Provincial Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested to urgently complete the dossier for promulgation and public announcement; and at the same time review and adjust relevant plans to ensure synchronicity and soon put the plan into practice.
Striving for double-digit growth
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the entire political system to focus on promoting disbursement of public investment capital, improving the investment environment and ensuring social security. In particular, it is necessary to closely follow Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW of the 2nd Conference of the 14th Party Central Committee and Resolution of the National Assembly on the 5-year socio-economic development plan (2026 - 2030).
The core goal is to aim for rapid and sustainable development, striving to achieve double-digit growth, in line with local practices.
In order to ensure that the resolutions truly go into life, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Boards of the Provincial People's Council, the Delegation Groups and each delegate to maximize their supervisory role. "After supervision, there should be a clear conclusion, determine specific responsibilities and monitor the implementation of recommendations to the end," Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong noted.
At the same time, delegates need to actively contact voters, grasp the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of the People to prepare content for the regular meeting in mid-2026.
Concluding his speech, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Ngo Chi Cuong sent a strong message about the spirit of responsibility of the contingent of cadres and civil servants: Proactively start working immediately, not waiting, not avoiding, not shirking responsibility. Things that the People expect must be prioritized for implementation first.
He emphasized the determination to act of the whole province: "Each official, each delegate must be a nucleus of innovation; each agency and unit must be a bright spot of action; the whole province is united in creating for the future development!
This message is considered a call to arms, arousing the determination to successfully implement the goals of 2026 and the entire term 2026 - 2031 of "Red Lotus Land".
