Young people spend hours catching the pink dress trend
In recent days, on social networking platforms, many images of people wearing pink dresses have been widely posted and shared. According to research, these photos were created through a photo editing application on mobile devices. The attraction of this trend is that photo editing only takes a few simple steps but creates very realistic and sharp photos.
This trend was further expanded when many guys also used this application and posted photos of themselves wearing dresses as an entertainment. The increasing amount of interaction caused images of the pink dress to flood the internet. Many young people are excited because just a few simple steps can change their outfit, figure, hairstyle, and even their face in the photo.
Spending more than 2 hours using this application to catch the trend, Ha Linh (Cau Giay, Hanoi) said that she was attracted and felt excited to use such image conversion applications.
"I was attracted as soon as I saw the photos of the "legendary pink dress" posted on social media. I had to click on each comment of everyone to find out how to use this application. It was surprising that it took me just a few simple steps to get photos wearing a pink dress with many different styles to follow the trend with everyone.
I was quite surprised that technology is now increasingly advanced, because even when I look back at the photos, it is difficult to recognize which is real and which is fake. I also tried to download photos of my friends and applied them and then sent them them them to see, so everyone would suspect that they would have worn that dress without remembering" - Linh informed.
Having photos of him swinging on the pink dress trend with more than 30 thousand interactions, Hoang Minh said: "At first, I just intended to edit the photos for fun, I didn't expect when posted to attract so much attention. I think it is because everyone feels interesting when men catch the trend of wearing dresses, that is why right after I posted, many men also tried it and saw more and more posts about the trend of pink dresses for men.
Unpredictable dangers from image editing tools
In addition to the excitement of swinging on the trend, many people also expressed concern and felt suddenly uncomfortable when their image appeared with a completely different figure and outfit.
"Yesterday, the whole Facebook was wearing the same pink dress. I surfed and found that more than 20 articles appeared continuously in the same dress, only changing each face. To the point that I felt scared and haunted by this dress, I could see it everywhere. The most difficult thing is when my friend collects photos of me wearing a dress and puts them in the classroom group, then I have to work hard to clear the house everywhere and I feel unhappy about that" - Nhat Long (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi) shared.
Through this incident, Long also expressed concern about the security capabilities of the application and thought about the risk of bad guys combining fake photos for bad purposes: "Image editing is becoming easier and more sophisticated. I personally often use social networks to grasp a lot of information, but if I put such photos to my parents to see, they certainly cannot recognize the unusual points in that photo. For that reason, if anyone has bad intentions, edits or collates sensitive photos to distribute or use for fraud, it is difficult to recognize.
Sharing about the dangers of image conversion applications, Mr. Vu Ngoc Son - Technology Director, Vietnam National Cyber Security Technology Company (NCS) said that licensing access and downloading personal images to photo creation and photo editing applications using artificial intelligence (AI) technology has many potential risks of exposing personal information, creating favorable conditions for bad guys to carry out fraudulent acts.

"When we have installed an application on our phone and licensed it, it means that the application can collect personal photos on our phone. These photos can then be sent to the service provider's overseas server. Because of that, users can be exposed to personal images.
In addition, photos taken from the phone can also store other user information such as information about the device in use, location and time of taking the photo... Therefore, if the bad guys have these photos in hand, they can completely synthesize the history and travel habits of the users, thereby creating exploitation scenarios such as scams about fraud..." - NCS Technology Director informed.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Son also noted that users should consider before deciding to install or use applications of unknown origin, and at the same time check the access rights that the application requires, to avoid the case of allowing the application to access too much data leading to the disclosure of personal information, even having control of mobile devices taken over.
