To thoroughly handle "hot spots" of illegal dumping and illegal dumping of waste at the wrong time and place, the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District has implemented a project to install a surveillance camera system throughout the area with a total investment of VND40.5 billion from the district budget.
Phase 1 of the project has been completed with the installation of 79 cameras in areas that are "hot spots".
In phase 2, the district will install 202 more cameras and plan to connect about 1,000 cameras of households and shared organizations to serve the handling of illegal dumping and garbage disposal in the wrong places in the area.
After the installation, the camera will be sent directly to the police of 13 wards to monitor garbage dumping activities as well as acts of disorder and urban security.
Previously, Ba Dinh District mobilized 211 groups/groups with 1,280 members in 13 wards to organize inspections and handle violations. In addition, the district also mobilized 100% of households on the street to detect violations and provide information to the authorities.
Through the handling of violations, Ba Dinh District also named many "hot spots" that still exist in the area, such as: Linh Lang - Phan Ke Binh intersection, No. 24 Phan Ke Binh, No. 120 Linh Lang, No. 35 and No. 37 Kim Ma Thuong (Cong Vi ward); opposite La Thanh Hotel (Lieu Giai ward); No. 50 Buoi Street, No. 969, No. 1060 La Thanh, No. 103 Dao Tan (Ngoc Khanh ward)...
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Ba Dinh District, up to mid-March 2025, the district has administratively sanctioned 111 cases of illegal dumping and discharging waste at the wrong time and place. Of which, 108 cases have complied with the fine with a fine of more than 165 million VND.
