Quang Tri - Continuous heavy rain causes flooding in border areas, cutting off traffic in many villages in A Doi commune.

On the morning of August 11, Mr. Tran Trong Kim - Chairman of the People's Committee of A Doi commune, Quang Tri province - said that heavy rain in the past 3 days has caused some bridges and overflows on provincial road 586 and people's roads to be flooded, affecting people's travel.

According to Mr. Kim, from about 2 am on the same day, floodwaters from upstream poured in strongly, rising in many locations on the route.

On provincial road 586, the culverts and spillways in the km31 and km26 areas were flooded, with strong currents. In A Doi Co village and the spillway leading to Xy village, the water also rose high and flowed strongly, causing traffic through the area to be congested.

To ensure safety, the People's Committee of A Doi commune has coordinated with functional forces to erect barriers and arrange people to be on duty at flooded points, not allowing people and vehicles to pass by arbitrarily when floodwaters are still high.

Previously, on the morning of August 9, some bridges and spillways in A Doi commune were also flooded, causing local traffic congestion.

By the morning of August 11, rain in the area continued. Local authorities are continuing to monitor weather developments and water levels at underground and overflows to proactively warn and ensure safety for people.
