On September 21, quick information from the People's Committee of Quang Khe commune said that heavy rain in recent days caused flooding and landslides in some places in the area, some people's bridges were swept away, and 16 houses were damaged.
In bon B'Dơng, rising water due to prolonged heavy rain swept away a wooden civil bridge in the area of Nga ba The Vu road, affecting the travel of about 75 households.
In the area of the road to Quang hamlet, rising water flooded a civil bridge, making it impossible for 28 households to cross the stream.
Meanwhile, landslides in another area damaged 16 houses. Among these, 4 households were identified as at high risk and were requested by the Commune Civil Defense Command to urgently relocate to a safe place.
In Phi Mur hamlet, heavy rain swept away a bridge on the Da Khi slope road leading to the Truong Thanh Forestry Company area.
In addition, the inter-commune road Quang Khe - Dak Ha (old) has road surface subsidence with a length of about 30m, making it impossible to travel.
Faced with the above situation, the Civil Defense Command of Quang Khe commune organized inspections of flooded locations and key areas at risk of unsafety; and at the same time deployed warnings to help people proactively prevent and avoid.
Shock forces are deployed to survey residential areas along rivers, streams, low-lying areas and places at risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides. Local authorities also proactively cleared the flow, ready to relocate and evacuate people when situations occur.
Quang Khe Commune People's Committee directed departments and related units to coordinate with the self-management boards of villages and hamlets to closely monitor the area, grasp the situation of affected households, review key points, statistically assess damage and mobilize local forces to handle initially according to the "4 on-site" motto.
To ensure student safety, schools are required to review student lists in affected areas and temporarily let students in these areas take leave from school.
Currently, the water at flooded locations is gradually receding, and the flooding situation is showing signs of decreasing. Quang Khe Commune People's Committee continues to direct forces to monitor weather developments, update damage and be ready to deploy response plans to ensure safety for people.
